Sometimes "I appologize " is not good enough

I have many experiences of people using and abusing the expression "I am sorry" .... it is as if you are allowed to do all sorts of things and then all you do to districate yourself is say those magic words ,I imagine if Anders Behring Breivik said "I am awfully sorry , i dont know what got into me when i gunned down 70 people in a youth center ( I did prepare everything before hand .... but perhaps it was the other side of me that did it .....) I am very sorry about that ......

Comment: I once found a bag near a shopping Mall in Paris .... It looked like a girl owned it because it was full of makeup bits and pieces and there were a lot of cards in it , one of which belonged to a buisness school and this had her name on it.
