"Il fuoco appiccato da interessi che distruggono, come quello che recentemente ha devastato l'Amazzonia, non è quello del Vangelo". Lo ha sottolineato il Papa nell'omelia della messa che apre il Sinodo dei vescovi. "Il fuoco di Dio è calore che attira e raccoglie in unità. Si alimenta con la condivisione, non coi guadagni. Il fuoco divoratore, invece, divampa quando si vogliono portare avanti solo le proprie idee, fare il proprio gruppo, bruciare le diversità per omologare tutti e tutto", ha aggiunto Francesco.

La Chiesa deve evitare "nuovi colonialismi" ha continuato il papa. "Quando senza amore e senza rispetto si divorano popoli e culture non è il fuoco di Dio ma il fuoco del mondo. Eppure quante volte il dono di Dio non è stato offerto ma imposto, quante volte c'è stata colonizzazione anziché evangelizzazione! Dio ci preservi dall'avidità dei nuovi colonialismi".

"Tanti fratelli e sorelle in Amazzonia portano croci pesanti e attendono la consolazione liberante del Vangelo, la carezza d'amore della Chiesa. Tanti fratelli e sorelle hanno donato la loro vita, hanno versato il loro sangue". Il Pontefice ha ricordato le parole del cardinale Claudio Hummes, relatore generale del Sinodo speciale per l'Amazzonia, che quando va in Amazzonia, la prima cosa che fa è andare nei cimiteri per salutare quanti hanno perso la vita.

L'obiettivo di questo Sino a tema Amazzonia, lo ha delineato il papa nel giorno in cui lo ha indetto, il 15 ottobre 2017, molto prima della devastazione dei mesi scorsi: "Trovare nuove vie per l’evangelizzazione di quella porzione del popolo di Dio, in particolare le persone indigene, spesso dimenticate e senza la prospettiva di un futuro sereno, anche a causa della crisi della foresta amazzonica, polmone di fondamentale importanza per il nostro pianeta”

 Comment:  I once found a bag near a shopping Mall in Paris ....  It looked like a girl owned it because it was full of makeup bits and pieces and there were a lot of cards in it , one of which belonged to a buisness school and this had her name on it.  The student was from Madagascar and i was sighing to myself when i called the school and the receptionist wasnt helpful in finding the person i was looking for.  I went to the consolate or Embassy one morning , spending money on a Taxi in order to give the bag to a safe person working there.  The consolate reminded me of  consolates or embassies representing very poor countries ...   .... where is  all the money and wealth going ? mish mash (and work in progress) for a story

Immigration and The Everyman editions (starting in 1906) was one of the first books i remember in my parents library; it reminds me of "Everywoman" and Every hu"man"i have ever known. I was born from my mother who was an amazingly  beautiful  woman who had married for "attraction", to my father who was her first cousin.  They had grown up in the same community in South India.  My mother was the main personality of our family mainly because she was energetic and ambitious and rather aggressive.  My father (even tho full of  testosterone looks and behavior) was dominated by my mother who was probably much more energetic than him.  They did have traumatizing arguments about money  partly because he was living by the philosophy that each man or woman should act according  to his or her talents (and not roles).  She made more money and didn't want to spend it.  While  he   loved to stay at home after o...
