Roberta and her story about her husband Mauro Mancini in the 70's

I want to write this story about Roberta because it was not by chance that i found a refuge next to her appartment and rang her bell.  And fortunately she was there and welcoming me as if i'd left her yesterday .  Actually loads had happened in the 13 years since we had met and i only happened to mention that she was very sporty and looked very fit.  This little comment led to her telling me that she was a boat person and her husband had been an expert in making sea maps of the mediterrainian waters and she showed me the book he had published .... but Mr Mancini had been tempted top go off on an adventurous trip with a younger man called Folgar who wasd very well known for such trips. This is how i got to know about Mar di Plata .... where their trip started ! La mar della Plata is a place in Argentina and  i didnt know about it (in my ignorance ) until i went to Italy to visit my youthful old lady Silvia .  She had just bought a very shabby appartment on a ...

I achieved a lot by wearing my head scarf !

As you see this is a picture of me      with a headscarf; i am one of those people who is stuck between cultures. I was wondering what to do with my life and wanted very much to go on the  trip he pr(oposed to me.  Perhaps living there  i could finally get a life! Nothing seemed to move forward for me after getting my BA degree in language and literature .  A big part of my heart wanted to go and said lets  try it out !  .....  I loved the german literature and language course and had studied German and liked it a lot .... but as always i worried ...

My mother's family life in Banglore as children (1930's onwards .... and before the Partitian

Life and opinions of Jahan Namazie/Azim Ali ....  written in the summer of 2018 They had this theory that children being small didn't need much food. The choicest food was given to the men, as they were the bread winners so they needed to eat well. The dastarkhan was laid with all the best dishes. The men were served first while the women and children waited patiently till the men finished eating and the leftovers the women and rest of the family ate. Lucky for us we did not practice this in our house. My mother believed men and women were equal and deserved the same opportunities. She made my brothers do house work as well as the girls which was shocking as men had to be waited hand and foot. Men never went into the kitchen or took care of the children. My father had broken the rules, he did the cooking and took care of the children. Every one made fun of him, but he had an excuse as my mother was disabled due to her arthritis and co...
